Biology Laboratory Information

Biology is an especially fun science! We will be doing several labs throughout the year to reinforce concepts we learn in the class and to practice our scientific inquiry skills. While they are a lot of fun, they can also be dangerous.

  1. Therefore, all students MUST sign a Student Safety Contract and pass the Lab Safety test. A list of lab safety procedures and rules are found below.
  2. During labs periods, you must be prepared and you must listen to directions very carefully. Failure to do so can result in severe personal injury and/or death.
  3. To minimize the chances of accidents, we will not be doing any lab that requires high heat, fire, sharp objects, or chemicals that are considered extremely volatile.
  4. Make sure you thoroughly understand the concepts and principles behind each lab. There is no point of doing the lab if you do not learn anything from it!
